Giving Back Through VolunteerismOn the twentieth day of MedEvent-Mas, we are celebrating the spirit of giving back. Many of us event planners extend our professional expertise beyond our own meetings and events, engaging in community service work that underscores our collective commitment to societal health.Event planning skills can be a force for good. By volunteering our time and talents, we contribute to a variety of causes, from public health initiatives to educational programs.Pro bono projects allow us to support non-profits and community organizations. Our volunteer efforts help forge strong community bonds and reflect the core values of the event planning industry: collaboration, education, and well-being.Each act of service, big or small, has the potential to inspire change and make a tangible impact on the lives of individuals and communities alike.Have you integrated volunteerism into your professional life? Share your stories of how giving back has enriched both your personal and professional experiences. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities within the meetings and events space, check out PCMA, Meeting Professionals International, or Events Industry Council. They would gladly welcome you with open arms. These organizations are phenomenal to work with! Let's use this day to reflect on how we can continue to leverage our expertise for the greater good and encourage a culture of volunteerism within our industry. Tomorrow is Day 21 of my 31 Days of MedEvent-Mas Advent Calendar. Bells will be ringing the Christmas tunes in just a few more days! #medicalcommunications #medcomm #lifesciences #pharma #biotech #meetingsandevents #medicalmeetings #christmas #adventcalendar #medeventmas #medeventmasseries #mmp #volunteer #volunteerism #giveback #payitforward

I normally only post on here professionally, but this is a personal post:📣 Making a Difference for Long Covid Sufferers in Scotland 📣I'm proud to volunteer with Long Covid Scotland, an incredible charity dedicated to supporting those whom Long Covid has impacted in Scotland. There are around 200,000 Scots affected, but very little in the way of support. It's not just a prolonged bout of Covid but can cause many different symptoms, such as excessive fatigue, brain fog, breathing difficulties and heart palpitations for years after the initial infection.🗓️ **Upcoming Online Information Sessions**If Long Covid has impacted you in Scotland, we are hosting two online information sessions this week for new members and volunteers. These sessions will focus on understanding our mission and how people can volunteer or help us advocate for the nearly 200,000 Scots living with Long Covid: a number that is still rising. The sessions are this Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. this week. You can find out more and register here:https://lnkd.in/ebKYbcuJIf you or someone you know has been affected by Long Covid in Scotland, this is an excellent opportunity to get involved, get informed and get a support network. #LongCovid #LongCovidScotland #Volunteer #Charity #Fatigue #BrainFog

Struggling with finding the time to give back to your community? Here's how I do it 👇Today is International Volunteer Day, but I know for a lot of people, between family, friend, and work commitments, setting aside a whole day can be tough 😮💨For me, rather than having one day out of the year dedicated to volunteering efforts, I like to think about doing small things, and how those little pieces add up.🩸 Earlier in the year, I gave plasma for NZ Blood for the first time. It seemed like an intense undertaking, so I was slightly wary at first, but with Jessica Medforth and Craig Bleakley's encouragement, I decided to go for it, and I realised that it was actually so easy to take that little bit of time out from my day to contribute in a really meaningful way.Since then, I've been back 2 more times, contributing 1.2 litres of liquid gold to those who really need it.A suggestion: Use today to experiment with a new-to-you way of sprinkling a little bit of International Volunteer Day magic into your regular schedule.Found this helpful? Share this post with a friend and maybe you both can try something new together—new experiences are way less daunting with a familiar face at your side.#InternationalVolunteerDay#GivingBack
